If the start of the new year has you wanting a healthy eating reset, may I suggest making your own salad dressings? They are incredibly easy to make and, in my opinion, make your salads taste so much better. I still love a Ken’s Creamy Caesar as much as anyone, but when I’m looking for something on the lighter side, I make my own dressing.

3. Asian Sesame Dressing from Iowa Girl Eats
For an Asian-inspired chopped salad, this dressing is my go-to! Heads up, this makes a good amount of dressing. It also has a decent amount of sugar, so I dress my salads very lightly with this dressing.
- ½ cup rice vinegar
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 ½ teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
Bring vinegar to a boil in a small saucepan. Turn off the heat and add sugar until dissolved. Let cool. Combine with the rest of the dressing ingredients in a jar and shake to combine.
