Join us for the first event of our 2021 season! Our new location for the season opener is the incredible Hobcaw Yacht Club. Located in Mt. Pleasant, SC, the pool swim overlooks the beautiful harbor and the bike and run courses take you through gorgeous sections of this scenic neighborhood. Participants may choose between triathlon, duathlon or virtual options (see virtual details below).
COVID-19 PROTOCOL UPDATE: She Tris athletes will NOT have to wear a face covering while actively participating in the triathlon/duathlon. Masks will be required on our trolley system and anytime you are on Hobcaw property and not actively participating in the event. You will be asked to wear them on the trolley, at check in, in transition, by the pool, and once you finish the event before you exit the finish line chute. We will follow the USAT return to multisport guidelines with mask wearing and social distancing.
SWIM: The swim is a 200 yard pool swim in the Hobcaw Yacht Club pool. Participants start at one side of the pool and snake their way up and down each lane as they work towards the other side of the pool. You will be provided with a swim cap if you choose to wear it.
BIKE: The bike course is a two-loop 12-mile route through the beautiful Hobcaw and nearby neighborhood. Participants will catch glimpses of the harbor, views of luxurious waterfront coastal Carolina style homes, all with a backdrop of palmetto trees and grand oak trees. The roads are open to traffic – but traffic is usually fairly light.
RUN: The 2-mile run course is an out and back-through the Hobcaw community along the low traffic roads. The course is partially shaded and mostly flat.
DUATHLON DISTANCES: 1-Mile Run / 12-Mile Bike / 2-Mile Run
VIRTUAL OPTION: Complete the distance anywhere anytime during the month of May 2021. Virtual participants can upload their times, but they will not be included in awards. A finisher certificate will be available for download. All virtual participants may choose to pick up their packets locally or they will be mailed in early May. Times should be submitted between 5/1/2021-5/30/2021. Virtual Triathlon: 200-yard swim, 12-mile bike, and a 2-mile run.
