Forty percent of Americans make New Year’s resolutions and only about 40-44% of them actually stay committed up to the sixth month. The majority of these resolutions revolve around health and fitness and die out even before the end of January. Is this you?

Have no fear! February is full of fun runs to help reignite that flame and get you going again. Below are all the runs to make you feel good and have fun! Did we miss one? Let us know in the comments below.

Save the Light Half Marathon/5K

A half-marathon and 5K to support the preservation of the Morris Island Lighthouse by Save The Light, a grassroots non-profit organization that formed in 2000 to save the Morris Island Lighthouse from being lost to the sea. Both races are USATF-certified and start and finish near the Folly Beach Pier. Half Marathon is a run only event. The 5K is open to runners and walkers.

February 1, 2020: Race begins at 8:30 am


2020 Cupid’s Chase

“Roller” friendly run/walk to help raise funds to make a difference in the lives of those with disabilities. Registration open until the day of the race.

February 8, 2020: Registration at 8 a.m. & race begins at 10 a.m.


Head for the Cure

Wannamaker County Park, 8888 University Blvd., North Charleston, SC 29406

Fourth annual 5K run/walk to help support funding for brain cancer research.

February 15, 2020: 9:00 a.m.


Cupid’s Undie Run

Loggerhead’s Beach Grill, 123 W. Ashley Ave., Folly Beach, SC 29439

For those on the more adventurous side and seeking something less than 3.1 miles, look no further. This mile(ish) fun run in your undies has 100% of the net proceeds going towards finding a cure for neurofibromatosis.

February 15, 2020: 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.


Newington Elementary Dolphin Run

10 King Charles Circle, Summerville, SC 29485

19th annual 5K, 1 Mile Kids fun run, AND DolphinFest complete with vendors, jump castles, and food trucks. This run comes with a little bit of everything.

February 22, 2020: 5K starts at 8:00, Kids Fun Run at 9:15  *Prices increase after February 15, 2020


We are Sharing Hope Race for Life

James Island County Park, 871 Riverland Dr., Charleston, SC 29412

15th Annual Race for Life is a premier race here in South Carolina focused on benefiting education for organ and tissue donations. Enjoy a 10K (chip-timed), 5K (chip-timed), and a Hero at Home virtual race. Dogs welcome on leashes.

February 29, 2020: 10K at 9:00 and 5K at 9:10 *Prices increase after February 23, 2020
