6 Ways to Make More Time in Your Day

While it’s impossible to literally “make time,” it is definitely possible to create more available time in your day. Here are some simple tips to help you get started having more time in your day and to ultimately be more productive!

6 tips to make more time in your day

1. Make Your Bed in the Morning

You may be wondering how making your bed, which actually takes time, will “add” more time back into your day. To be honest, it doesn’t take that much time to quickly make your bed, and the mindset you’ll have by your bed being made will cause you to be more productive throughout the day!

2. Block Scheduling

Block scheduling means that you give yourself a set amount of time to work on each task in your day. For instance, it may take you longer than one hour to do a certain task before moving to the next one, but we can’t do it all. For instance, decluttering a room. It has taken me several days to declutter a room in my house because I only have so many hours I can dedicate to doing it without letting everything else go. You can even set timers when you start working on something because it’s easy for time to get away from us sometimes.

3. Make Lists

Monthly, weekly, and daily lists help keep your thoughts organized and you’ll always know what you need to get done. How does this save time? It saves time because you don’t waste time wondering and trying to remember what you need to do next. It is literally on a list right in front of you. You can make a list on paper or on your phone to help you save time!

4. Grocery Pick-up

Grocery pickup has become more popular in the wake of the pandemic, and it is a great time saver! You can add your groceries to your cart throughout the week as you run out of items, place your order, then choose a time that’s convenient for you to pick them up. You save time and money this way because you don’t have to go to the store and waste time browsing and possibly picking up things you don’t need.

5. Put Things Away and Pick Things Up As You Go

Having a habit of always putting things back when you use them will save you so much time! It may be a challenge to get your family on board with this, but it is worth trying. Otherwise, “later” will come and you’ll have that much more to tidy up.

6. Stop Mindlessly Scrolling

It’s not a secret that most of us are addicted to our smartphones and, as a result, we waste a lot of time mindlessly scrolling. If you limit the amount of time you spend on your phone each day, you would be surprised at how many more minutes you gain back!
