Halloween events
Haunted Trail at The South Carolina Aquarium
Dates: Open October 1 – 31.
Location: South Carolina Aquarium
Details: Get your fill of gills, chills, and thrills when you visit the Aquarium! New for 2020, the Haunted Trail is an experience unlike any other, and it is sure to make your next Aquarium visit your most thrilling one yet! The recommended minimum age for the Haunted Trail is eight years old. Guests under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult. All guests over the age of three must wear a face mask at all times.
Scarecrows on the Square
Dates: October 9 – 24
Location: Hutchinson Square, downtown Summerville
Guests of all ages are invited out to our annual, Scarecrows on the Square! Stop by to check out the creativity on display around Hutchinson Square in the heart of Summerville.
Ghostwalk
Dates: October 17th – 31st
Location: Hutchinson Square, downtown Summerville
The Junior Service League of Summerville’s annual Ghostwalk will be a little different this year with the current state of social distancing. This year’s Ghostwalk event will be an on-demand, self-led tour that will run from October 17th to 31st. Instead of hearing the stories live as in past years, we will be recording our Ghostwalk stories that will be available through a QR code for tour-goers to watch.
13th Annual Autumn on the Ashley
Dates: Saturday & Sunday, October 10 & 11, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Location: Magnolia Plantation & Gardens
Details: Magnolia’s Autumn on the Ashley Arts and Craft Fair is coming back! On Saturday & Sunday, October 10 & 11, dozens of Lowcountry artisans will feature their handcrafted items for sale from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Featured items include wood carvings, paintings, textiles, jewelry, photography, natural skincare, lawn art, and more. Attendance to the Art Fair is free of charge. Attendance to Magnolia Gardens requires basic garden admission.
Faith Moncks Corner Trunk or Treat
Dates: October 17, 5 pm – 8 pm
Location: Faith Moncks Corner
Details: Trunk or Treat is a free, family-friendly event featuring jump castles, face painting, hayrides, costume contest (ages 12 & under), photo booth, food trucks, vendors, plenty of candy, and so much more! Some activities, like the food trucks and vendor items, will require a ticket purchase. However, everyone will receive free hot dogs and bottled water while supplies last!
Carnival Eats Tour @Sangaree
Dates: October 17, 5 pm – 7 pm
Location: Sangaree Library
Details: Delicious fair food and fun activities for the kids! Bring the whole family out.
CPD Halloween Howl
Dates: October 23rd, 4 pm – 6 pm
Location: 180 Lockwood Blvd.
Details: This event is very similar to Trunk or Treat, which is a safer alternative for children to trick or treat, check out cool police car displays, and enjoy Halloween. There will be a prize for the best-decorated patrol car!
3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest
Dates: October 24th, 2 pm – 8 pm
Location: Avondale Wine & Cheese
Details: Two time slots- 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm! Reservations only. $10 PER PERSON INCLUDES PUMPKIN. WE WILL BEGIN TAKING RESERVATIONS ON SEPT 28th. Please call starting Monday to put your name down!!
First Baptist Church of Charleston Trunk or Treat
Dates: October 28th, 5:30 pm – 7 pm
Location: 2055 George Griffith Blvd., Charleston, 29412
Details: Join us for some fun for the whole family. We are offering a safe place for you to spend time together and celebrate Fall. We will utilize the outdoor space around the gym building to set up a trunk or treat. This will allow us to social distance while providing children a great experience.
Trunk or Treat Drive-Thru
Dates: October 28, 6 pm – 8 pm
Location: Regional Recreation Complex, 418 East Main St., Moncks Corner,
Details: Calling all Ghosts, Witches, Goblins, & Ghouls it’s time to grab your treat bags and costumes. Stay in your car and protect yourself from any related ghosts and goblins this year! Join us for our very first Halloween Trunk or Treat Drive-Thru. It’s FREE spooky fun ride for all ages! Rain or shine!
Bee-Witching Ball
Dates: October 30, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: Bizzy Bee Indoor Play Center
Details: We have all the tricks and the treats here with the Zom-bees. Trick-or-treat down Main street. Navigate the not-so-scary haunted hive. Get your photo taken in the GetEm Twisted Photobooth. Play spooktacular games and activities and dance the night away to our Haunted Tunes. The cafe will be open and feature lots of Halloween goodies. Tickets for kids $20. Tickets for Adults $5.
Trick or Treat Boo Thru
Dates: October 30th, 3:30 – 6:30
Location: Hampton Park
Details: sign up for a time slot between 3:30 pm-6:30 pm to drive through a mile of Halloween fun along the Hampton Park loop! You will receive goodies from community exhibitors, get funny family pictures taken in your vehicle, tune into spooky Halloween music, hunt for pumpkins, and much more. All attendees are required to stay in their vehicles, but feel free to wear your costumes and decorate your vehicles for extra fun and prizes.
LHCDC Trunk or Treat
Dates: October 31, 2 pm – 5 pm
Location: Little Hands CDC
Details: We are excited to be throwing our first LHCDC Trunk or Treat! We will have lots of fun activities, including free food, trunks, games, pumpkin patch ($6 per child), balloon animals, raffles, treats & candy. No entry fee & all children are welcome to attend!
West Farm Corn Maze
Dates: October 2 – November 1; Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays:
Fridays: 5-10pm | Saturdays: 10am – 10pm | Sundays: 10am-7pm

Details: With a corn maze, pumpkin barn, children’s area, animal viewing, hayrides, and an apple slingshot, there’s something for everyone to do here!
Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch
Dates: October 1 – October 31, Fridays & Saturdays 10 am-6 pm, Sundays, Sunday 12 pm-6 pm
Location: Hwy. 17, Mt. Pleasant (1/2 mile north of Long Point Rd.)
Details: We are excited to announce that we will be offering the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch Family Friendly Monster Hayride as a drive-through attraction this year. This will allow families and groups to stay in their vehicles and drive along the hayride trail to view all the exciting scenes with “creatures” and colorful Halloween themed displays along the way, all while avoiding any unnecessary exposure to the virus.

Details: Boone Hall Fright Nights is proud to present an all-new event in 2020 with 3 brand new attractions filled with fear! Boone Hall Fright Nights offers a variety of ticketing options. Guests may purchase individual attraction tickets or a combination Scream Pass which includes one-time admission into each of the three attractions. A limited number of VIP Faster to the Fear access passes will be available each night. Attractions are designed and recommended for guests over 12 years of age.
