4th of July Events Around Charleston (Plus a Free Printable!)


The 4th of July is all about celebrating the birthday of America, thanking those that fight for our freedom, bbq-ing with friends and family, and fireworks! Oh, the fireworks! There’s something magical about seeing the sky light up in red, white & blue. We’ve compiled a list of fantastic fireworks displays and Independence Day events happening in and around Charleston!

Firework Displays & Celebrations

Mount Pleasant

Patriots Point 4th of July Celebration 

Food trucks and live music will kick off at 6 p.m. landside of the USS Yorktown. About 10 local food vendors will be selling food and drink. Access will not be available to the USS Yorktown this year due to staffing restraints.

{Admission} No admission fee for the show, but parking will cost $20 per vehicle.

Isle of Palms

{Date} Thursday, July 4. Fireworks begin at dusk

North Charleston

4th of July Festival

Featuring musical guests, activities for kids, vendors, food trucks, and a fireworks show!

{Date} July 4, 7 pm – 10 pm

{Location} Riverfront Park, 1001 Everglades Ave, North Charleston

Fireworks and Freedom Fest

Join in the annual Summerville tradition with music, games, children’s activities, and more.

{Date} Thursday, July 4, 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm.

Goose Creek

Annual Fabulous Fourth in the Creek

This free event will showcase music, a variety of food vendors, and free kids’ activities.

Kiawah Island

4th of July Festival

Stop by Kiawah Island’s Sundown Festival while the sun sets in Night Heron Park.  Live music, southern lawn games, inflatables, a photo booth, and crafts are available throughout the evening.  Be sure to hang around for our fireworks show beginning promptly at 9:15 pm.

Moncks Corner

4th of July Street Dance & Fireworks

Viewing of the fireworks can be viewed from your vehicles or you may bring a blanket and lawn chairs to sit on the Event Field, there is plenty of room to gather and spread out.
