Santa Virtual Experience (Citadel Mall)

Dates: November 2 – December 24

Details: Visiting Santa is a treasured holiday tradition. We understand circumstances may be different this year, and not all guests are comfortable coming to visit Santa at the center. With the elves and our partners at Cherry Hill Programs, we’ve arranged a number of virtual experiences for you to create holiday magic this season.

Deck the Dunes – A Socially Distant Holiday Celebration

Dates: November 27

Location: Wild Dunes Resort, 127 N. Tryon St., Ste #D5757 Palm Blvd., Isle of Palms, SC 29451

Details: Enjoy an all-inclusive, socially distanced holiday festival on Wild Dunes Resort’s croquet lawn. Up to four guests can reserve their own 10-by-10 square to kick back and relax with family bingo, a holiday movie, a virtual tree lighting, and even a virtual appearance from the big man himself. Each personalized family square will be pre-set with two Wild Dunes Resort beach chairs, a blanket, a bucket of beverages, four popcorns, and four bingo cards. There will also be three grab-and-go food stations, and heaters will be provided pending weather.

Northwoods Mall Visit With Santa (in-person)

Dates: November 27 – December 24, see days and times here.

Location: Northwoods Mall, 2150 Northwoods Blvd., North Charleston, 29406

Details: In-person visits will still be available, but you will have to reserve a special time to see Santa. These visits will be contactless, and hand sanitizing stations will also be available. Face masks are required to visit Santa for children age 2 and up as well as adults, so remember to bring your festive holiday mask or face covering.

Northwoods Mall Visit With Santa (virtually)


Location: Virtual

Details: For those unable to see Santa in person or who want additional memorable experiences, we are now offering several online options. You can continue to Create Holiday Magic from the comfort of your home, and celebrate Christmas throughout the season with things like Story Time with Santa, Photos with Santa (including pets), a live zoom call, and more! Photos with Santa at Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre

Dates: November 28, December 5, 12, 19, 11 am – 7 pm

Location: Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre, 1218 Belk Dr., Mt. Pleasant, 29464

Details: To capture the magic of the holidays, Santa Claus will be available for photos at The North Pole on Theater Drive near Regal Cinema. Guests are invited to take their own photos for a $15 donation to the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. Only 1 ticket/time slot per family needed. Appointments are MANDATORY. No walk-ups will be permitted.


Face masks and social distancing are required while in the North Pole {except for when taking photos}.

Santa at the Aquarium

Dates: December 1 – 24, Sundays -Tuesdays, 9 am – 2 pm

Location: South Carolina Aquarium, 100 Aquarium Wharf, Charleston, SC 29401

Details: The Aquarium is delighted to once again offer children – naughty and nice – the opportunity to meet with Santa Claus to share their wishes! Santa is on a tight schedule, but the Aquarium is fortunate to host him every Sunday-Tuesday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., during the month of December until the Christmas holiday. A contact-free queuing system will allow guests to explore the Aquarium while waiting to be notified of their turn, via mobile device, to meet with Santa. This year will be especially unique as Santa will arrive in his one-fish open sleigh to meet with kids, ensuring proper social distancing for a very merry and safe experience. Santa will be donning his face mask and requests that all children, from to 92, do the same. While this year’s photos may look a little different from years past, they will surely make the memories even more precious when reflected on in the holidays to come.

2020 Old Time Summerville Christmas Celebration

Dates: December 1, 5:30 pm – 8 pm

Location: Hutchinson Square, Summerville, SC 29483

Details: This event will be a modified version of the Town’s traditional tree lighting ceremony. Pictures with Santa (Hutchinson Square Bandstand): 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Bring your cameras and smiles for socially distant pictures with Santa. The line will close at 7:30 p.m. Live Window Displays (Various Streets – Map will be Provided): 5:30 – 8 p.m. The South Carolina Department of Commerce requires attendees over the age of 3 to wear masks at the event and practice social distancing.

City of North Charleston Christmas in the Park

Dates: December 4, 5, 11, book a time here

Location: Felix C. Davis Community Center, 4800 Park Circle, North Charleston, SC 29406

Details: Join us for Christmas in the Park and come snap a socially distance photo with Santa and the kids will enjoy a treat bag with cookies and cocoa to go. Be sure to have your children bring their letters to Santa.

Holiday Parade at Magnolia

Dates: December 5

Location: Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, 3550 Ashley River Rd., Charleston, SC 29414

Details: Magnolia Plantation & Gardens is hosting our FIRST EVER Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 5th, 2020 at 11 am. The Parade will start at our Children’s Garden and will march down our iconic Oak Alley. Bring your chairs and blankets, grab a hot chocolate from the Peacock Café, and enjoy some Christmas magic. Santa will be having a socially distanced meet and greet immediately following the parade in the Children’s Garden, so make sure to stick around!

Meet Santa at Bowman Place

Dates: December 5

Location: Kudzu Bakery, 1100 Bowman Rd., Ste. 100, Mt. Pleasant, 29464

Details: Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Beano the Kilted Elf will make a stop at Bowman Place this holiday season! Santa will be on the Kudzu Bakery patio from 10 A.M.-2 P.M. on Saturday, December 5th. Come say “hello”, snap a photo or two, and tell Santa what is on your Christmas wish list. This meet and greet is FREE!

*We ask that guests respect COVID-19 guidelines while waiting in line. All adults and children over the age of two please wear a mask when within 6 feet of other guests.

Santa Sleigh Ride Tour

Details: Harness some holiday fun and climb aboard our specially decorated carriage driven by none other than Santa Claus! This festive 20-minute ride through downtown Charleston – complete with hot cocoa, cookies, and Christmas carols – is sure to make you merry. Bring your own blanket for extra warmth, and don’t forget your camera for a photo with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves. Holiday masks welcome!

Winter Wonderland at Boone Hall Farms

Dates: December 5, 10 am – 5 pm

Location: Boone Hall Farms, 2434 Highway 17, Mt. Pleasant, 29464

Details: We will have a “socially distanced” Santa Claus and sleigh. There will be special appearances by Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Jessie from Toy Story, Spiderman… and baby goats! (Anna and Elsa appearances from 11 AM – 1 PM, Jessie and Spiderman from 2 PM – 4 PM). We will have s’mores and a fire pit, food trucks, and a small showcase of local vendors. We will also be a drop-off location for Toys for Tots. Bring your family out to see Santa, spend some time outdoors, and pick out the perfect Christmas tree!

Inclusive Visit with Santa

Dates: December 6

Location: James Island County Park, 871 Riverland Dr., Charleston,

Details: Children with disabilities and their families are invited to a photo session with Santa at James Island County Park. Photos will be taken at Park Center upstairs in Santa’s Attic, which is accessible via an outdoor ramp. Join us to experience the time-honored tradition of a visit with Santa Claus during dedicated hours in a sensory-friendly environment. Santa will be fluent in ASL (American Sign Language).

While you’re chatting with jolly old St. Nick, our professional photographer will take photos of your group of up to 5 people with Santa.

Santa’s Christmas Party

Dates: December 11

Location: G.M. Darby Building, 302 Pitt St., Mt. Pleasant, 29464

Details: Come enjoy the fun in this show with Santa, Jack Frost, an ice skater, and Frosty the Snowman. Please call 843-849-2061 for reservations.

Santa is Coming (Knightsville General Store)

Dates: December 12

Location: Knightsville General Store, 1700 Central Ave., Summerville, 29483

Details: Santa Claus is Coming! Bring in non-perishable food items to be donated to a local food pantry and get your picture with Santa. We’ll have lots of local Arts and Craft Vendors so you can get your shopping done too. And we’ll have a food truck so stick around for lunch. Santa will be here from 12:00 – 4:00. Local Arts & Craft Vendors and Food Truck will be here from 11:00 – 5:00

Santa on Shem Creek

Dates: December 12 & 13, 10 am – 12:30 (appointments necessary) and 1 pm – 4:30 pm (first-come, first-serve)

Location: 97 Church St. in Mount Pleasant

Details: Appointments are available from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Book appointments by calling Annie’s Nannies at 843-654-4266 or emailing [email protected]. Families will be given a 15-minute appointment with Santa. They will have the option to ask Santa to wear a mask. Children can either sit on a bench with Santa or on a bench placed a few feet in front of Santa. Appointments are $35 per family and include a professional photo that will be delivered digitally.

First come, first serve Santa visits are available from 1-4:30 p.m. (families must be in line by 4 p.m.) on both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is one, unwrapped toy per family to benefit Toys for Tots. A professional photographer will be taking pictures that will be delivered digitally. Safety precautions and social distancing measures will be strictly enforced. All family members will be required to wear face coverings (they may be removed briefly for photos with Santa). Everyone attending will be required to have their temperature taken. Families waiting to see Santa will be spaced 6 feet apart. Hand sanitizing stations will be available.

Children’s Reindeer Walk and Holiday Fest

Dates: December 19, 11 am – 3 pm

Location: Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, 3550 Ashley River Road, Charleston

Details: Santa’s Reindeer have run away! It is up to you to find the reindeer who are hiding throughout the gardens. Start in the Conservatory where you might find your first reindeer, then head across the red bridge to continue the search! Each Reindeer will have a fun holiday activity waiting for you. Finish in the festive Holiday village at our Children’s Garden where Santa with Mrs. Claus and Rudolph will be waiting for you.

Stories & Sweets on the Stoop With Santa

Dates: December 20 – 23

Location: Wild Dunes Resort, 1 Sundial Circle, Isle of Palms, 29451

Details: Santa is enjoying a little R&R at the beach, ahead of his big night! Your family is invited to add a little magic to your holiday, with a special visit from the big man himself. Santa’s helper will deliver cookies and milk to your doorstep, and then your family will enjoy a very special reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” from Santa – read aloud outside from a safe social distance. The total visit will be 10-15 minutes.
