Bloom: An Event for New & Expecting Moms in Charleston is coming up next weekend, September 12!

10. A panel of experts! Our panel covers everything from birth to babies and beyond! No joke!
You guys… we have a board-certified OB/GYN from Roper St. Francis Physician Partners OB/GYN, a physical therapist specializing in pelvic floor issues that are common during pregnancy, a local Cord Blood Registry manager who consults with parents on preserving their newborn’s stem cells, the Outreach Coordinator for Postpartum Support Charleston where helping other mothers is her life’s mission, and a fitness guru who specializes in activities for mom and baby with programs like Fit4Mom Stroller Strides, Fit4Baby, and Stroller Barre – all these fabulous speakers will be participating in a super helpful Q&A panel discussion and taking questions. Believe us— you don’t want to miss what Dr. Megan Rome, Erica Hoppenrath, Amber Weakley, and Stevee Martin have to say!

Charleston is one of nearly 50 Sister Sites across the country that will be hosting this SAME event during the year 2021. Moms across the country will be learning and bonding together at the same time and you can join in on the fun! (Know someone in another city? Would we invite a bunch of ladies to an event and not provide delicious food? Never! We will be having all your cravings from our sponsors at Charleston Coastal Charcuterie, Southern Bear Catering, and Costco! And…toast to your amazing mama self with a “mom”mosa created just for you sponsored by New York Life! Not a fan? Opt for orange juice or ginger ale on its own. Regardless, you deserve a fancy drink.
7. Bump + Baby photo session
Want to capture your cute bump or grab a photo with your friends? As always, we’ll have professionals on hand ready to capture the fun at our Bloom Event. Show off that precious baby bump or new baby with Alena Photography, grab your Charleston mom friends or even your own mom; make some memories during this wonderful season of life! And we’ll have Belly to Baby Photography snapping fun photos throughout the event that we’ll share afterward.
6. You’re among friends!
Whether you’re attending Bloom alone or with a friend, you’ll be in a room full of other new, seasoned, and expecting moms. Don’t be shy— the best thing you can leave with is a name, number, or future playdate! We hope you use our event to start your “village” or to add a few new members. 5. Learn about local resources for new moms & babies!
We want to help you start motherhood on the right foot by introducing you to the resources available to you right here in our community. Our vendors have been specifically selected to give you a variety of topics that are important to moms! The Family Collective specializes in providing resources & opportunities to individuals, couples, and families to build community & genuine connection with one another; Under the Almond Trees meets your shopping needs and offers all the latest and greatest baby items; Postpartum Support Charleston is a non-profit organization that supports mothers across the Charleston Tri-county area struggling with maternal mental illness such as postpartum depression and anxiety; Once Upon a Child knows you want the best for your family: quality, value, and kids’ stuff that is safe …and that’s just a quarter of the resources you’ll encounter!
4. So. Many. Giveaways.
Buckle your seatbelts! There are SO many giveaways (over $2500 worth of them to be exact), you might be blown away! We’ve searched high and low for national products and local brands to partner with and we think we’ve done a great job! Each mom will have a chance to win items like a $500 gift certificate from Diamonds Direct, as well as amazing, top-of-the-line products from ErgoPouch, pediped, Milkmaid Goods, Munchkin, and more! Imagine paying $35 for a ticket, and leaving with a giveaway valued at $300+ along with a swag bag stuffed with products! We’d call that a pretty good Sunday afternoon.

2. We’re taking lots of safety precautions
Charleston Moms is committed to keeping our new and expecting moms safe at Bloom. The bigger venue allows for better social distancing. Although Harborside East Event Venue can host 300 people at capacity, our Bloom event is intentionally kept much smaller in order to create a comfortable and intimate atmosphere for our guests making it a great opportunity to talk one on one with our vendors, experts, and other moms! We will be following CDC recommendations and requesting that masks be worn by all guests and vendors. There will be hand sanitizing stations set up throughout the venue and we will also be utilizing the outdoor patio that overlooks the beautiful Charleston Harbor!

The Facts
Who :: This event is geared towards Charleston area moms who are currently expecting a baby, had a baby within the last year, foster moms of infants, or moms who are planning on growing their family soon.
What :: An afternoon of learning, fun, and celebration! Moms will get to listen and ask questions of our expert panel, enjoy yummy snacks, interact with local businesses, and enter to win fun giveaways, have their photo taken by a professional photographer at our bump+baby station with an adorable backdrop, and so much more! It’s your one-stop shop for all things mom!
Why :: Whether you’re expecting for the first or third time, have a newborn at home, are waiting for that phone call or paperwork to clear to bring that baby to their forever home, this event is for you. Every guest will leave with an adorable tote bag filled with fantastic swag, enjoy specialty food, meet and chat with other moms, enter some fabulous giveaways and receive introductions to local experts on topics pertaining to parenting.
