Get ready for Halloween sweets and treats with our list of special events to go trick or treating in Charleston! These are kid-friendly events that include trick or treating, as well as trunk or treats around town. What are you going to be for Halloween?

Trunk or Treat at Magnolia Dance Academy

Please join us for a Trunk or Treat and Halloween fun! Wear your costumes, collect candy, and play some games! Fun for the whole family! There will be hot dog dinners available for $5 with the proceeds going towards our Spring Recital.

Yorktown Halloween

Patriots Point, 40 Patriots Point Rd., Mt. Pleasant

Families are invited to celebrate aboard the historic USS Yorktown on Saturday, October 23, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. This event is free to attend. Patriots Point encourages children to don their Halloween costumes and visit the Yorktown’s Hangar Deck. Instead of going door to door, kids will trick-or-treat from plane to plane and collect candy beneath historic World War II aircraft. Families can also choose to participate in a guided Halloween-themed tour through the museum. During the event, visitors can enjoy a photo station, craft, and a cartoon playing every 30 minutes in the Smokey Stover Theater.

Lowcountry Halloween Fest

Citadel Mall

A fun and safe indoor trick-or-treating experience with dozens of family-friendly local businesses handing out candy. Enjoy free face painting, balloon animals, fun activity zones, and a petting zoo (even a llama!) Several special guests will also be making an appearance. The first 1,500 trick-or-treaters are guaranteed candy! Come dressed up as a family and you might win a prize!

Trick or Treat Boo Thru

Hampton Park

On Thursday, October 28, sign up for a time slot between 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm to drive through a mile of Halloween fun along the Hampton Park loop! You will receive goodies from community exhibitors, get funny family pictures taken in your vehicle, tune into spooky Halloween music, hunt for pumpkins, and much more. All attendees are required to stay in their vehicles, but feel free to wear your costumes and decorate your vehicles for extra fun and prizes.

Town of Summerville Truck or Treat Halloween Bash

515 W. Boundary St., Summerville, 29483

Starting at 5:30 p.m., we will have a large variety of different vehicles, including police & fire emergency vehicles, tractors, construction vehicles, and more, for kiddos to climb in and explore. Children should bring a bag for candy because all participating departments will be passing out candy. We will also have jump castles, a photo booth, an opportunity to meet the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus, and other Halloween Fun! Halloween costumes are encouraged for all participants. Dinner and snacks for sale.

Carolina Park Trunk or Treat

Carolina Park Soccer Complex

Trick or treating, petting zoo, and train rides. Costumes encouraged. Food truck onsite for dinner. Stay after or the showing of Beetlejuice.

Hanahan Recreation Trunk or Treat

Hanahan Amphitheater, 3100 Mabeline Road, Hanahan

Come join us for our annual Trunk or Treat at the beautiful Hanahan Amphitheater! Trunk or Treat starts at 6:00 pm! Wear your best costume for our costume contest that will start at 7:00 pm on the Amphitheater stage. We will be showing the movie “The Addams Family” directly after the costume contest.

Trunk or Treat (Isle of Palms)

All are invited to ‘TRUNK or TREAT’ with us on Friday, October 29th 5-7pm at 300 Palm Blvd, IOP (St. Mark’s Church Lawn). Join us for a night of Family Fun with music & dancing, costumes & candy, games, concessions & more!

  1. Hi, I stumbled upon your website while looking up things to do in Charleston on Halloween. My family is from Germany and we are on vacation here over Halloween Our kids, 8 and 5, have their costumes with them. Do you know if there is a good neighborhood to trick or treat in this area?
