Bloom :: An Event for New & Expecting Moms Recap

Bumps and babies galore! On April 14, 2018, Charleston Moms Blog welcomed 75 new and expecting moms to our 3rd annual Bloom, an event for new and expecting moms. This morning was truly special with educational resources especially for Charleston area moms, pampering massages for those tired mommy muscles, retail therapy, lots of food to satisfy those cravings and an inspiring panel of local, professional moms. A professional photographer was on hand to capture the adorable bumps and babies at our bump and baby photo station. Not to mention, every mom left with a stuffed swag bag plus the opportunity of a giveaway item especially for mom and baby!

The Venue

Private Therapy Services in West Ashley welcomed us with open arms to celebrate a morning of all things motherhood. They were excited to share their brand new women’s center with Charleston’s newest moms. Private Therapy Services was opened by Dr. Jonathan C. Kelley in 2002. The primary objective in opening a new clinic here in Charleston was the desire to create a truly patient centered clinic that is primarily dedicated to intensive one-on-one therapy. Every patient, as well as their needs and goals, is unique. The best way to make sure those goals are met is through an individual treatment plan worked out in conjunction with the patient. Private Therapy Services specializes in women’s health. As a women’s health specialist, treatment is offered for impairments of the low back, abdomen, pelvis, and pelvic floor for a wide spectrum of disorders including, but not limited to pregnancy and post-partum.

The Food

Food is a must with every celebration of motherhood! Our food sponsors provided a delicious food complete with a yogurt bar, danishes and bagels from Panera Bread. Chick-fil-A provided their famous chicken nuggets for our mamas with savory cravings. Costco stepped in with yummy, healthy fresh fruit and satisfied sweet cravings with brownies, coffee cakes and granola bars. Thanks to Panera Bread for providing coffee, a mom’s best friend!

Mother’s Lounge

Thank you to La Leche League for sponsoring the feeding room of our mother’s lounge, complete with snacks and bottled water to refuel and rehydrate. Babyganics sponsored our changing station with the opportunity to try out their diapers, wipes and other diaper changing essentials.

Guests had a great time connecting with local businesses. From nursery design to mommy fitness and much more, everyone had the opportunity to learn more about the resources available to them in the community.
