This annual campaign is a grassroots movement of education and relationship building that promotes the many economic and societal benefits of supporting local businesses. During Buy Local Month, LLF works to showcase the great work local businesses are doing for their community and to steer consumers to these businesses at the height of the holiday shopping season.
Look for the “Certified Local” badge in storefronts or use our Online Local Business Directory to support your neighbors this holiday season!

Open-air market including local artisans and vendors, live musicians performing festive carols, and complimentary hot cider.
December 6 – 8, 10 am
Exchange Park, 9850 Highway 78, Ladson, SC
Each year, the Exchange Park, Charleston’s Alternative Venue, is transformed to showcase artwork from some of the best artists in the nation. Just in time for the holiday shopping season. The 27th annual Christmas Made in the South welcomes hundreds of artists and makers from 28 states exhibiting spectacular work in a broad spectrum of mediums. For those three fun-filled days, artists will exhibit their work in photography, jewelry, sculpture, woodworking, personalized ornaments, pottery, stained glass, folk artists and many others.

The annual Holiday Market & Craft Show combines all the goodies from our traditional food market such as locally grown fresh produce, baked goods, hot food and homemade preserves with handcrafted gifts created by local artisans. Live entertainment with a holiday twist will kindle the holiday spirit throughout the market. Children’s activities will include face painting, balloon art, a craft area and a visit with Santa Claus,
Saturdays & Sundays, 9 am-3 pm
You’ll find everything you need to deck the halls for the holidays and fill the pantry with baked goodies, all from local farmers and artisans, including natural wreaths, fresh greenery, special breads, cookies and fresh vegetables, as well as the best assortment of art, crafts and holiday gift items.
