From the simplest to the most complex obstetrical conditions, you and your little bundle are in the safest hands with our team of board-certified experts at MUSC Women’s Health.

We have six convenient locations around the Lowcountry for your prenatal care. And when it comes time to deliver, we’ve integrated MUSC Women’s Health with Children’s Health in the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital & Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, to ensure experienced maternal-fetal medicine doctors and pediatric specialists are available to collaborate for the best outcomes for mom and baby.

This innovative children’s & women’s health care facility offers a Stork elevator that transports mothers from the hospital lobby directly to the maternity pavilion. The Labor & Delivery unit houses 36 mother/baby post-partum and mother-baby/antepartum rooms and seven couplet care rooms where mothers and newborn babies can recover together. The MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital offers the largest NICU in the region, the most comprehensive pediatric cardiac intensive care unit in the state and a team of women’s and pediatric care team members focused on delivering the highest quality of care and patient-centered experiences.

And, while prenatal care and delivery are just one chapter of your larger health journey, the MUSC Women’s Health care team offers preventative care and treatment for every age and stage of life from well-woman exams, pelvic floor disorders, and even more complex gynecological surgery.

TD Law Group 405x405

Thompson Dove Law Group is a family building law firm assisting families throughout South Carolina. In addition to our work in adoption, we offer a full-service gestational surrogacy program.

Whether you are considering becoming a surrogate or growing your own family through surrogacy, we can guide you through every step of the process and we would be happy for you to consider our program for your experience.

We are proud to be the only surrogacy program in South Carolina with a licensed social worker on staff to provide support to gestational carriers who work with our program throughout their pregnancies.

If you had uncomplicated pregnancies and have ever had the desire to help an infertile couple, by carrying a child to whom you are not genetically related (using the intended couple’s embryo), while receiving compensation that may benefit your own family, we would love to hear from you!

Intended families that are part of our program are working with local fertility clinics, so you do NOT need to travel out of state. You are able to see your established OBGYN for the pregnancy and delivery! Our preliminary questionnaire for hopeful gestational carriers can be found here.

Julia Shaw was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. Collegiate athletics brought Julia to the Midwest where she competed in DII lacrosse. She completed her undergraduate degrees in marketing & sport management, and went on to receive her MBA while working in Division I college Athletic Development (fundraising, donor relations and event management). Julia and her husband Jimmie made the move to Charleston to be closer to family, and to take advantage of all that the Lowcountry has to offer. From amazing people, to a vibrant city scene, great food, rich history, and the outdoors, Julia is thrilled to be back on the East Coast and to raise her children Perry (2 years) and Paxton (10 months) near their cousins. She is excited to connect parents with local businesses who share her same passion for raising a family in such a fantastic community. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, watching and playing sports, trying new food, reading, traveling, and spending time with family.
